Back from Vacay!

Hello lovely readers! We are back from Beantown and it was aaawweessooommeee! Lots to do and lots to see! Now we're back in Seattle and all wedding plans: full steam ahead! Mom is coming in a week so we can go dress shopping together. Three boutique appointments booked! I will let you know how that goes!

Today was my first day of official summer vacay-ness/housewife status and it was almost as good as being on vacation in Boston (but not rearry). It started with a morning yoga class, continued with cleaning the bathrooms in Chez Bernie (Bert and Ernie... think about it...), and finished with a lot of phone calls and emails.

I did get to sneak in a bunch of blog stalking, though! Here are the fruits of my labor... (BTW, a girl misses a LOT in one week of not reading these wedding blogs! Geez!)

These tablescapes (at a wedding at our venue!) are so beautiful!
I like how clean yet romantic they are.

This wedding has just the right amount of whimsicalness.

Okay can someone introduce me to a wood artisan please?

The bouquet, the flowy vintage dress, the yellow sash, and the red hair... I LOVE.

Help me find blue glass jars like this, pretty please?

It's all in the details. I saw this dress hanger on Etsy a while ago and now I may
have to go back and buy one!

Getting married in front of a centuries-old redwood in the middle of the forest?
Awesome.
Reception in a wooden barn with high beamed ceilings and crystal chandeliers?
Even awesomer.

And that brings this edition of Misadventure to a close. Until next time, my friends ♥

Summer Escape

Just one more final exam tomorrow and school's out for the summer! Brett and I are leaving for Boston on Sunday for five days, which I am so excited about since he lived there for two years and I've never been! I'm sure there will be plenty of misadventures to be had!

Now that the wedding ruckus has died down a little with the booking of our venue, I'm hoping that everything else will just fall in place. I have complete faith in Lissa that they will! Brett and I have been looking at vacation homes for rent in the Ko Olina area for 10+ people and have been finding some pretty sweet spots! The ideal would be to rent a couple of them that our nearest and dearests can stay for four days prior to (and right after) the big day. It doesn't hurt that the beach is a five minute walk and the waterpark is across the freeway!

We'll see how that all works out.

I am totally loving the pictures I've found on various blogs today...

Such a creative theme! I don't know about having a pony at the reception, but this was for a magazine photo shoot and not an actual wedding. I really like the colors--I don't like anything too "girly."

I really love outdoor weddings! There's nothing more romantic than being under the stars with your loved one! And what's better than a bonfire? Nothing, that's what.

This engagement pic is barfalicious! :) I love it!

That's all folks! If I don't write for awhile after this, it's because I'm on vacation with my betrothed and we're not to be disturbed! ♥

Venue: Check!!

Phew! Big relief. Venue and wedding date done! There are a couple of minor changes but they're manageable and Brett & I are adapting. You ready for this? Drum roll...
Date: August 6, 2011
Yes, this is a month after our initial date (July 2, 2011) but it was the only Saturday left in the summer of '11! Can you believe that? This venue is so popular! And yes, I whined and moaned for about ten minutes (sorry, Lissa, Brett, and Mom) but now, maybe this later wedding date is a blessing in disguise--we have an extra month for saving money and we'll be moved in to our new place before the wedding!

So, there you have it. We're getting married! Here are a few more pictures of our VENUE...

I'm excited! More good news: my mama is coming in July for dress shopping! Yay!!

I really shouldn't be blogging right now--it being finals week and all. But I couldn't resist telling you all about the venue! It's such a huge relief to have it reserved. Next up: the photographer and dress!

Before I go, I want to share some pictures from a beach wedding held in Puerto Rico...

(I really like the relaxed feel with the open-air cocktail lounge)
And more outdoor weddings...

(She let all of her bridesmaids choose their own dresses completely, as long as they were in the right color palette)

This is from the same wedding as above, and I just have to mention how much I like how all the men look! Very nice--can you believe these suits are from Express Men?!

Bride and Groom ♥
...can't wait!!

Lazy Sunday...

This being finals week, no Sunday Funday allowed. Instead, Brett and I met a friend at another friend's restaurant for brunch (sadly, without mimosas or bloodies) followed by a nap and now studying. But as I've mentioned before, "studying" often includes poring over all of my favorite blogs.

I love her dress! So pretty! More pretty dresses...

I want to look like a runaway princess when I get married. I don't really know what that means, but that's what I want. :)

And, yes, I have THE PERFECT dress picked out already, but I'm not showing! Plus, my fiance reads this blog!

This wedding seems right out of a fairy tale! So pretty.

And lastly, because engagement pictures are coming up this summer (while Seattle is sunny and perfect), I'm pretty obsessed with engagement pic sessions. This one is sweet; I love it when couples look like they're in a world of their own. The fact that this couple built a tent (wouldn't building a fort like you were little kids be a cute idea?) solidifies them being in "their own little world." I love it!!

On the venue front, I know y'all are on the edges of your seats... So Ko Olina doesn't seem like it will work for our vision, so back to the drawing board! We may have to change the date as we set our sights on Lanikuhonua. To be continued....

Have a lovely week!

I Miss My Boyfriend!!

How I Know I'm Marrying the Man for Me Reason #34: I cannot stand to be away from Brett for three days. Three days. It's actually getting to both of us! It's really rather pathetic, but we're aware, and we embrace this. Brett will be home tomorrow, at which point life can continue as normal. For now, we're in a weird state of yearning, like teenagers.

On the school front, the school year is finally coming to a close, with finals next week! This summer will be the first in two years that I've taken off from school! Unfortunately, it won't be all sunbathing and mystery novels. There will be studying for the PCAT (to be taken on August 21st), completing pharm school apps (due November 1st), wedding planning, bartending, and volunteering. It'll be a busy summer, but I look forward to the challenge! :)

On the other hand, we do have two trips to look forward to: Boston the third week of June and Hawaii the first week of September! So excited!

Mom and Sister are scoping out the tentative venue tomorrow night and Brett&I are eager to hear their verdict! If all goes well, it would be such a relief to have the venue secured down and tucked away. Crossing my fingers...

Some wedding inspiration pics of the day!
I absolutely L♥VE the colors of this photo shoot! So bright and happy!

This picture is interesting on multiple levels. For one, I love the vintage feel of it. For another, the bridesmaids are wearing completely different dresses. I really like that!

The personalized touch of these ties definitely make them special, which is so important!

Creative card box. Happy pictures of the couple at each table are a nice touch, too!

New trend: raw cotton in floral arrangements. What do you think? I think it's kind of cool.

Badgley Mischka design the sweetest bridal shoes!

And lastly, how pretty is this bridesmaid dress? I love it, and the color is perfect! I still haven't found a dress so I would need that before I choose BM dresses, but this is so pretty!

That's it for today guys! Two big events happening tomorrow: (1) My beyonce fiance is coming home--finally! and (2) Mom and Sister dish about the possible venue!! There's a third big event but it's not as exciting as those two! We've set up a girlfriend of mine with a man friend of Brett's and tomorrow we're chaperoning their third date! LOL! We're going to a big fancy party at the new Hard Rock, so it should be interesting! Pictures to come! ♥

Home ALONE!!

My beloved has flown the coop! Thankfully, he'll be back in a couple of days. Since the cat's away, this mouse will play! ...With her other girl mice that is. How awesome are lady dates?! I'm excited! Another exciting prospect: learning to calligraphy for future wedding-related things (addressing envelopes, place cards, etc)! I bought a couple of how-to books and some pens and will start practicing today! I'll let you know how that goes!

The photo above is part of an engagement photo sesh that I ran across today. How adorable is that? I remember those books quite fondly from my childhood. I wonder if those two are childhood buddies-turned-soul mates ♥ How romantic! Other gems I found today...

Isn't this a sweet engagement photo? How did they get that bed out in the middle of a field?!

I love the romantic feel of this wedding! Such great style!

Who knew baby's breath could be so breath-taking? I love this look, and it's so affordable!

There's something so romantic about courtroom weddings...
But don't worry, Brett and I won't run off and have all the fun without you! :)
Have a great week, everyone! ♥
