To-Do Lists...

Do you make one of these everyday? I know they really help Brett, and lately I've had to jot a few things down (where I usually would try to just go from memory in the past). Luckily, some items crossed off the list in the past two weeks:
  • Peek at our engagement pictures
  • Pick up our Save the Dates
  • Bought wedding day shoes and hair stuffies
  • Three out of five pharmacy apps
  • PCAT score came in (I did decently, thanks!)
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Got a scholarship!
  • Plane tickets home for Christmas
  • Almost done with the wedding website, just gotta add our flowergirls and ring bearer info, plus e-shoot pics

Aaaah... it's so rewarding to draw a big fat line through items on this list! Started school this week, which means less time devoted to wedding obsessions and more time on physics and organic chemistry! Eat your hearts out!

I'm sure you guys are dying to see our e-shoot pics (ha! I'm so vain!) but give us a couple more days! :) In the meantime, check these out!

Doesn't he look like the boy character from The Notebook? So cute! Did you know Ryan Gosling is in a band, Dead Man's Bones? They're not bad. Anyhoo, gorgeous couple :)

So playfully infectious :) Loves it

Ah! So cute! Except I don't get why the girl doesn't get most of the blanket? I'm just saying...

Now that our Save the Dates are checked off our list, it's time to think about invitations!

Forget red velvet, I want rainbow!

Some couples are crazy creative! Who thinks of things like this? So awesome.

Love this! And on sale at Etsy for only $422! Don't tell me I never did anything for you!

J. Crew has the best suits.

More menswear! ...And pretty bm's too.

Short blog today, because I have a few more things to check off my to-do list today! I'll leave you with this, one of my favorite songs that will remind me of B & my early days forever and ever! ♥

No longer no longer what you ask
Strange steps , heels turned black
The cinders, the cinders, they light the path
Of these strange steps
Take us back, take us back

Flow sweetly hang heavy
You suddenly complete me
You suddenly complete me
Flow sweetly hang heavy
You suddenly complete me
You suddenly complete me

Hysteric, hysterical

No wonder no wonder, other half
Strange steps, heels turned black
The cinders they splinter
And light the path
Of these strange steps
Trace us back, trace us back

Flow sweetly hang heavy
You suddenly complete me
You suddenly complete me
Flow sweetly hang heavy
You suddenly complete me
You suddenly complete me

Hysteric, hysterical

I love Karen O. My world was complete when Brett took me to see the YYYs play at Bumbershoot last year. Amazing show!

To Bachelorette or Not to Bachelorette?

With the upcoming nuptials of one of my favorite fashionistas (see below), there have been pictures of said pretty mother of two frolicking in Cabo for her bachelorette.

My question to you, dear readers, is what are your thoughts on bachelor and bachelorette parties? Funnily, the first question from the lips of all the groomsmen after being asked to be a groomsmen took the shape of something like, "When/where/who/how are the bachelor parties?" Note the plural: parties.

Pause. Breathe.

Not "When is the wedding?" or "Where will the wedding take place?"  Men.

My thoughts are on a joint bachelor/bachelorette party in Vegas that does not include strippers. No strippers!! Also on the ixed-nay list: penis straws, tiaras, sashes, veils with penises, list of must-do's, etc. Apologies to married girlfriends that I participated in putting through above-mentioned rites.

Brett will probably have one or two more bachelor parties, but just one trip to Vegas with all of our closest friends is enough for me. Girls in one suite, boys in the other.

Oh! Lookie what I got in the mail today
Loves it! So stoked. It's all sparkly from the 15 minutes of sun we got today!

This dress is dreamy, like it was pulled straight out of a Winterhalter painting. Look him up--his attention to women's fashion in the late 1800s is amazing. Listen to me, I sound so smart and edumacated! LOL!

My heart started to beat faster when I saw these pics.

I want that tiny waist! And ladies, take note of the jaw-dropping, dramatic flair of this dress. So necessary.

Cute right? Silly string exit?

Wrong! It's actually cute as a concept and awkward in execution!

Beautiful bride, handsome groom, homespun shabby chic altar... I get the feel of the wedding, but the officiant's retro look is overkill. Gets an A for effort.

Two blogs in two days? Lucky you! More than halfway done with application essays (I would say roughly 71.2% done) and Brett busy-busy at work (coming home after 8 pm is unacceptable!) leaves this temporary housewife with some extra time on her hands.

Kinda morbid wedding pic, eh? Like they just got hit by a bus? On that note...

Have a lovely rest of the week!

Miss Slackerton!

Dear readers,
As I was so graciously reminded the other day by my loveliest of girlfriends (Neysa belle!), it has been a long minute since I wrote a blog. Not that I haven't been trying--there are a bunch of pictures sitting on my computer desktop just waiting to be uploaded and then deleted. No excuses...although I have been busy working and studying and writing application essays. Not very much wedding planning happening at the moment (although Nikki finished the Save-the-dates and we'll be mailing them out really soon!). Brett is trying to book a caterer and I'm supposed to be working on a florist. We're still trying to narrow down the guest list but it's way hard. Brett also finished--or is almost finished--with our wedding website. Can't wait for everyone to see!

I've recently (finally!) taken up a fitness routine of some kind. Yoga, Tracy Anderson DVDs, and running. I need to be teeny-tiny-cute in my wedding dress. No kidding around. It's been a week, and I'm pretty sore. Good sore. I highly recommend Tracy Anderson's workout--for all you ladies out there, and I'm assuming most of you are, unless you're my fiance--she tones you without bulking so you keep your feminine shape and don't get weird Madonna arms or Britney thighs.

Another awesome find this week: Rent the Runway, where you can rent dresses from labels like Herve Leger and Alice + Olivia for $50-$300 (you keep it for four days). This will come in handy for the bachelorette party and rehearsal dinner.

Now on to the goods.

I am lucky enough to have booked Marlo for hair for myself and the bridesmaids as well as makeup, just for the bride (sorry girls!) and can't say enough good things about her! She is beautiful, calm, extremely capable, and does the best job! I would recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat!

Here are some ideas I have for hair...

You're probably noticing a theme here. Lately, I've been thinking a lot about hair and I'm liking the headband. Everyone says you have to wear fresh flowers in your hair since it's in Hawaii, but I don't want to do what everyone else is doing!

I already have my dream dress, but I still like looking. Much like having my dream man, no? (Just kidding, Brett) Aren't these frothy goodness?

This dress is a little too much, but I like her for her boldness.

SHOOOOOES! All of these are by Pour la Victoire--the first shoe is this last one with a feather pouf on it. I love the stylish creativity of that bride. This brand is magnifique!

Couldn't resist adding one more.

I love these flowers! They're so pretty and have a touch of "Oh these old things? I just went out and picked it from the field of wildflowers out yonder" whimsicalness. Gorg.

Happy and fun! That's what I want our day to look like, the embodiment of happy and fun...and be full of joy and love. Is that too much to ask?

I asked Brett if we could make an archway like this and he answered by asking if it's easier to just rent one from the rental company.

This stamp came in the other day from Cupcake Tree on Etsy. I can't wait to use it on cocktail napkins, favors, the invitations, you name it, this will be on it. So in love.

I love bridesmaid shots! Love the different dresses in these--just like what we're doing! I'm so excited about having my girls around me the day-of! I wish I could have included three or four more, but six is already a lot!

Great family shot. Love grandpa and grandma sitting in the front.

This picture was shared by Christine, one of my favorite lady date partners--when she's not getting my fiance all boozed up.

LOOK at this picture. No, seriously, LOOK at it. This picture is beyond words--gorgeous, sweet, romantic, private. *Sigh* One of my new favorites.

Instead of rose petals, this is a pretty sweet exit, minus a lump of ribbon hitting you in the face.

I like the colors and composition of this picture. And how does it make you feel?

Love this! So fresh and unique!

This one's pretty cool too, but his chin hair (was going to write a different word there, but couldn't--this blog is too pretty) gotta go.

There's something so loving about the groom kissing the bride's hand. One of my favorite photos of my big sis and her hubs' wedding was where he was kissing her hand and do I even need to mention...
I thought not.

Thanks for being so patient with me this month. I have been Miss Slackerton, my apologies. This month you'll probably be getting your Save-the-Date in the mail (if you're lucky!) and we'll be getting our E-shoot pics back! I'll share them with you as soon as we do!

Have a lovely week ♥
