Wedding Waning

[via]
I don't know if you've started to notice, but my interest in weddings is waning. I suppose it's due to my year-old obsession and the fact that our wedding is just about completely planned; I've exhausted myself. Also, there's only so many wedding photos you can look at before you start seeing the same things over and over. Sure, there are exceptions that knock you off your feet, but those are getting far and few between.

I don't think I would make it as a wedding planner.

Which is fine, since I start pharmacy school right after the honeymoon! I'm getting super excited about it! Pharmacy school, that spanking new white lab coat, living in a totally unexplored city, wild misadventures. Can't wait!

I'm sure I'll keep blogging about them, and may be posting wedding stuff in the coming years, but they might transition into other areas of interest, like interior decorating, fashion, and babies. Can't wait (but I will! We're waiting four years!) for babies! Saw this baby shoot and fell in love!

That'll be us, in about five years! We're going to be the old cool parents that let our kids do whatevs. LOL! That's what Brett likes to say. We'll still be young at heart though!

Until then, here are some more wedding pictures. I'm not quite totally sick of weddings just yet.

Super colorful, boisterous, frolicking, happy, good time wedding. That's what we want. :)

This couple's super sweet goat-themed (whoever thought of a goat-themed wedding?! So good!) also included a pie baking contest! Guests were encouraged to bring a pie to be judged by the newlyweds! I think it's brilliant!

This Maui destination wedding reminds me how lucky we are to be getting married in Hawaii. When I tell people here (acquaintances, my seamstress, my hair girl, etc) that we're getting married in Hawaii, I usually get squeals of excitement or comments about how jealous they are, or the like. I always respond with "Yeah, we're very excited!" but you know, I was never as excited as they were. I forget how beautiful and dare I say it, magical Hawaii is. Getting married there, on a green lawn next to a white sandy beach at sunset and then dancing under the stars, how lucky are we?!?! So goshdarn lucky. EEEEEEeeeeee!!!! I can't wait.

I LAAAHHHVE that bouquet! So pretty! This San Diego wedding is full of sweet details, like an "I Spy" game incorporated into their seating cards, which kept the vibe fun and natural with lots of organic eye candy.

That's it for this edition! Can't wait to share with you all of our Portland misadventures coming this weekend!

B+E Invitations!

Our wedding invitations went out last week! It required some deep slow breathing to send out the  batch--there's no turning back from here! LOL! Super thrilled with how they came out. Nikki, you are amazing! Thank you thank you thank you! Love you tons! ♥

Here's a peek at what Miss Nikki made for us!

Isn't our stationary suite great? Brett and I absolutely love it and feel that it fits the theme of our wedding perfectly!

The invitation card
The direction card
The front and back of the RSVP card. I want to direct your attention to the blue hearts on the mason jar, in the shape of a "B" and "E," how creative is that?

It took Brett and I two days to bundle, tie, stuff, and address them!
Ready to mail! Sorry so fuzzy, this was taken with a shaky hand on my iPhone.
This also explains why I haven't blogged in awhile. Between sending out the invitations, pulling our little kiddies' outfits together, planning the honeymoon, and school for me/work for him, we have very little time to do anything!

Thank goodness it's a 3-day weekend! We are going to spend it in Portland on a 3-day date! This will include art museums, the best martini Brett has ever had, a bike tour of breweries, visiting with our Portland friends, and general goodness. No homework, no workwork, just me + my old man and our misadventures!

Y'all have an equally fab weekend!

Techie Diet Cheating...

[via]
I swore off all technological time-wasters (Facebook, blogstalking, blog-writing, online shopping, and Pinteresting) for the rest of the week to concentrate on more pressing matters...but!!! I had to write this because I cheated and saw the following video on a blog and it moved me to tears so I had to write about it!

The sweetest little proposal video I've ever seen...

Now aren't you glad I shared that? I swear, the older I get, the wimpier I get. I never used to be a crier.

The intro to that video reminded me of an anniversary shoot I stumbled upon a while back on Style Me Pretty, shot by Jesse Holland Photography.

Man, you guys are getting the really cute and sentimental stuff today, huh?

Speaking of aging... here's some pictures from our Dirty Thirty Birthday party last Saturday...

Brett and Dan hired a Murder Mystery skit crew. It was...interesting. :)

 Peter, Laura, me, Brett

Christine is so moke! :)

There was a mustache photobooth upstairs...accurately named the "Trashed" photobooth. (That was actually the name of the event at Baltic Room) Lots of crazy pictures taken there that night.

By far my fave pic of the night.

 I ♥ Celestial!

Why is Grant always showing up in costume? LOL!

Trashed. For sure.

So the whole reason I started this "techie diet" of mine is because I had a big organic chem exam this morning (I did alright. Meh), a lab report and a problem set due today, and it was important for us to start booking hotels for our honeymoon. Check, check, check and check!

Honeymoon! So stoked! Here's the itinerary:
Arrive in Madrid in the morning. Stay for two days.
[via]
Train to Sevilla. Stay for two days.
[via]
Rent a car, drive to Arcos de la Frontera. Stay for three days.
[via]
While in Arcos, spend a day on the beach in Cadiz.
[via]
And another day exploring the pueblos blancos of Ronda.
[via]
And finally drive to Granada. Stay for two days.
[via]
Lastly, catch a train back to Madrid, stay overnight and then catch a plane to North Carolina!

I start pharmacy school two days after returning from the honeymoon. Not that I'm complaining. This is just the beginning of a series of misadventures!

BTW, two months from today, I will be in Hawaii with my fam, getting ready for baby Kaitlin's first birthday and prepping for our wedding! YAY!!!

Home is where the Mom is ♥

Ms Patti Hee (nee Yap), a.k.a. my Mama, in her high school senior portrait ♥
It's just about Mother's Day! On this day, I celebrate all of the Mommies out there, who have kissed booboos, tucked babies in at night, waited up for teenagers, and worried, and worried, and worried. My grandmother, Dorothy Yap, Mama, and sister, Kristin Pada are by far my favorite Mommies in the world, and my heroes! I love you ladies and miss you dearly. Only two more months til I get to see your pretty faces and give you all a huge bear hug!!

To all of the Mothers reading this: ♥ Happy Mother's Day! ♥ You are amazing!

My last day as a 20-something...

And how do I want to spend it? Writing a lab report, folding laundry, and going to the gym? Mmmm... no, not my ideal. But that's what I'll be doing! Well, that and the super awesome surprise date night that my lovely manboy has planned for us tonight! I'm very excited, especially since this is the first real Friday night date that we've ever had--my former job as a bartender prevented it before, except while on vacations.

Besides being my birthday eve, it's also our three-month mark before the Big Day! August 6, 2011, I can almost see you! And on that note, some pretty pictures for you to enjoy...

These little cuties have the same fluffy skirt as the bride... so lucky!

Fiance and Dan have planned a Dirty Thirty for Alani and I for tomorrow night and we are very anxious to see what kind of hijinks they have put together (those are some pretty mischievous boys!). I'll be sure to keep you all filled in! Thanks for reading and have a very wonderful weekend!
