Some pictures from the last couple of weeks that you can find on my Instagram page!

Us in the nosebleeds at the Kanye + Jay-Z "Watch the Throne" tour. So good.

Epic getups at the NC State v UNC game.

Husband made rice crispie treats for our bake sale at school ♥

Oy vay, biochemistry-induced headache number 37 of the semester.

Date night included a trip to the Raleigh Wine Shop!

Christmas shopping at Crabtree Valley Mall for ourselves (as gifts from the parentals-in-law)... I pooped out first while Husband continued shopping away! This is me sitting in Banana Republic with all of our goodies from H&M.

RGB in Minty and OPI in Last Friday Night (all fingers) and Teenage Dream (ring finger only).

Yes, we made a three-paneled posterboard, just like you did in fifth grade. Good times.

On our girls' weekend at the beach house in Oak Island. We played dress up.

My secret love note for Husband to find when he got home from Seattle and I was at the beach house.

We did Black Friday the right way: twenty minutes in Walmart at 10pm Thursday night. Crockpot and coffee pot and DONE!

Brett and Baxter had a Red Box DVD case battle.

Ooooh, lookie what I found! Can't wait to open!

This is the bar Brett is dying to have a beer in. The bathroom is a portapotty in the field outside. If this happens it will have to be (a) just for one beer, (b) in daylight hours, (c) at the beginning of the date so I won't have to use the portapotty and (d) with pepper spray and a wooden stake at hand.

That's all I've got today! I'm studystudystudying away for this week's physical challenge: Five Finals in Five Days. I also have to finish our Christmas cards and pack for our three-week vacation! Eeeeee! So excited!

Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday! As my A&P prof, Dr Hall, would say: Rest and Digest! LOL!

Introducing Baking with Style!

Wow, nineteen thousand views! Thank you, my lovely readers! I know this isn't much on a grand scale of blogging, but I am super happy that there are about 1,500 views per month!

In light of that, I wanted to introduce to you my BFF's new blog: Baking with Style. Kristina and I have been best friends since that first day in 8th grade when I asked her to borrow a pencil and she scowled and said, "You should come to class more prepared." LOL! I thought she was super funny and sassy. And I was right! Seventeen years (and many misadventures together) later, we are tight as ever and only a couple hours (plane-wise) away from each other! She lives in New York City (on the fabulous Upper West Side) with her boyfriend, Brendan, who owns Donovan's Cellar, specialty pickled delights! Check them out!

I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday with your loved ones--Brett and I got to spend time with his parents devouring a turkey and then devouring the shelves at Walmart at midnight :)

That's a pic of the beautiful dining room at the Shoes' house right before we sat down to our Thanksgiving luncheon feast! :) Today we're putting up Christmas decorations (and by "we," I mean "Brett and his parents," LOL!); later they're going to play golf while I study for finals.

I hope all of you out there going all Black Friday on me are having fun and not getting too nuts! No pepper spraying your neighbors, please! But spend that money, honey! :D

Wishing you and your family lots of love and laughter this holiday season! Don't you love the holidays? ♥

Final Wedding Post!

I promised Shauna a post giving advice or tips or tricks or whatever to brides planning a wedding, so I'm making good on that right now! Here goes...

Tips for brides and grooms planning their wedding:

  • Hire a wedding planner! At the very least, have a day-of coordinator!
  • Incorporate themes and pieces that are uniquely you + your fiance
  • Enjoy the ride! Being engaged is such a happy and magical time :)
  • Don't freak out on your groom, which is easier said than done, lol! Try to keep in mind that you're beginning a partnership, full of compromise and honesty.
  • I'm not a very good DIY-er so Etsy and Ebay were my best friends--message me for my favorite stores!
  • If you need help, ask for it! Your family and friends are happier and more eager to help than you think!
  • Be appreciative and grateful. Don't bridezilla out!
  • Hire a capable photographer and videographer--they are probably the most important vendors.
  • Make sure you communicate clearly and thoroughly your utmost wants and needs, to all your vendors. It's easy to get pushed over, which is another good reason to have a wedding planner, mine made darn sure I got everything my heart desired!

Any Regrets?

  • I wish we had more group pics: more pictures with the bridal party, a big pic with ALL the guests, and had time to go around and take pics with all the tables.
  • I gave a photo list to our photographers that was three pages long, which was impossible! Looking back, I should have put the ones I wanted the most that ended getting lost in the fray (ie the welcome table details, which I actually DIY'd). Not to say that I don't appreciate our photographers! They did an excellent job and I love every single photo!
  • I had a few bridezilla moments that I regret... sorry Mommy and sister (they're the lucky ones who got to witness it, not that they've never seen me brat out before!) LOL!

Other than that, not many regrets. I loved every minute of our big day! Hope you learned something from me airing our dirty laundry ;)

And finally, I thought it would be nice if we shared our vows with you... (click on them to enlarge!)

Rereading them makes me feel all warm and squishy inside. It also reminds me that the real reason for the whole wedding thang was to begin our marriage. And I'm so happy that he picked me :)

Two posts in one day--I'm maxing out my creativity quota... I think I'll force Husband to go for a run with me now.

And don't you stop believing either!

Honeymoon in T-11 Days!!!

Morning y'all! Don't you love that little print (above)? It's so me and B, him being from the East Coast and me being from Hawaii :)

The first semester of pharmacy school is quickly drawing to a close and you know what that means! ONE MONTH VACATION!!!! Ohmigoodness I am so excited! You might have read here about the honeymoon that Husband and I painstakingly planned together prior to realizing that school started the Monday after our wedding. This honeymoon was cancelled and refunded (phew!) but I spent the rest of that day in bed sulking before Hubby came home early from work to make me get over and laugh about it.

There's always a silver lining! This one consists of (besides a sweet hubby to cheer me out of a funk) a fun-soaked week in Hawaii with the ohana and extended ohana PLUS a two-week traipse across southeast Asia!

After leaving Hawaii (which is getting harder and harder each time now :( my family and friends are better than yours, lol! Just kidding. Maybe.), we head to Singapore! A few days there at the Wangz Hotel...

...before jetting off to Siep Reap, Cambodia and the Angkor temples...

We'll be staying at the Pavillon d'Orient...

...and visiting the Angkor Wat temple at sunrise--something worth seeing, according to all the travel books. I can't wait to be awed! We'll be taking our camera to practice our photography skills, so I'll make sure those get on here when we get back!

After a few days there, we'll be off to Phuket, Thailand...

[via] lay on the beach for a week and take in the city and beach town life. I look forward to getting brown again. Pasty winter skin is no bueno. We'll be staying at the Nap Patong Hotel...

...and exploring islands (like Ko Phi Phi, which is where they filmed The Beach with Leo Dicaprio) and doing lots of shopping :) My favorite hobby. I also promised Husband that we will do a lot of beach-laying and cocktail-sipping. You know, the generic honeymoon shiz, lols.

Finally, we head back to Singapore for a couple of days (and CHRISTMAS!) to lounge about some more and do more "city-folk" things. This time we're staying at the Quincy Hotel...

...where they have an amazing rooftop pool and bar (as you can see). Can I tell you how excited I am about this?

First Christmas together as Mister and Missus! ♥ I'm so glad we have each other, every day, for our whole lives :) So cheesy, but seriously, I love our life together. It's super rad.

And we travel well together, most of the time, which is a HUGE deal for me! Traveling can be a challenge for some couples. This is our first international trip together on top of it (Vancouver, BC doesn't count).

Alright, five more finals before I can truly get excited about the honeymoon. I hope you have a wonderful week! Happy early Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for! ♥ Count your blessings, every day.

Playing with Fonts

Morning y'all! I've been trying to catch up on my blogging since I was so negligent before! But don't get used to daily posts. ;)

Discovered these two fonts online and was thinking about changing the title picture of this blog, what do you think? I really like the first one, Dirty Classic (click the link to download onto your own computer!). The second one, Bleeding Cowboy, is a little too swooshy I think, but I still like it. I would expect to see it on a movie poster or something. My original font (the one you see above, is called Landliebe and you can find it here (well, two clicks after that one).

Either way, they're both fun. And could spice up your own stationary or graphic designs. My gift to you. LOL!

Tuesdays are lab days and there are no labs today so I get to Pinterest to my heart's desire (okay, and study study study too). Here's what I'm currently listening to:

Shout Out Louds :: My Friend and the Ink on His Fingers

Don't forget to hug your loved ones today! It's not a crime to overuse "I love you" or squeeze too hard :) I can't wait to see my family in two and a half weeks! Love and miss you guys very much! ♥ Thinking of you always! ♥

Have a very lovely, peaceful, and thankful Tuesday!

Our New Whip :)

We got a new car last week! It's a brand spanking new Ford Explorer and we love it! Here are some pics...

Three rows of seating! Seats six!(= four future babies, duh!)

To the right of the speedometer is the thingy that records your average mpg (it's not 12.8 anymore but 19.9 thank goodness!) and tells you how many more miles before empty gas tank. On the right of the speedometer lets you control sound system, climate, phone calls, and navigation.

 Electronic gadgets by Microsoft :)
The ambient lighting is projected on the floor at night and also around all the nooks and crannies, as shown below...

Obviously it needs to be pink! :)

It has towing capability, so I think we should get a little boat. Or a jetski.

Love the black grill.

Don't want to neglect our other baby:

Finally drove his car for the first time a few weeks ago and then again last week! I love it. So smooth and fast! :P Not that I sped or anything.

Since it was such a beautiful day out, Brett decided to go around the block a few times on his other set of wheels.

We are loving the sunshine! Such a change from Seattle! The other day, we went for a walk and Brett, out of no where exclaimed, "Look at the sky!" And I was confused. But he was just excited because there were no clouds, which never happens in November in Seattle!
It's the little things :)

Drawback of living in the sticks? The other morning I was driving to school and barely missed re-running over a huge deer in the middle of the road only to discover later that I did manage to run over its poop and get it all on my new car! Eeeek! Made Brett spray it off for me later. UuuuUuhhh *shudder* gross.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your week!
