LIFE DURING PHARMACY SCHOOL

DURING PHARMACY SCHOOL

HOW I FEEL AFTER STARTING PHARMACY SCHOOL

all via

Ah, well. All of life is one big misadventure, right? And if you're wondering how I got fixated on this word: misadventure, let me explain. From our very first outing, and pretty much every single one that followed, something would go hilariously wrong with our planning and/or execution, and Brett started calling all of our dates "misadventures." For example: we get lost, we write down an erroneous start time, I fall and get hurt (this is common), we forget something vital at home, the rest of our flotilla continue down Yakima River without us, etc. Many, many misadventures.

But I wouldn't have it any other way! Now: back to the grind! Happy Wednesday!

Grateful

Gratitude

Happy belated Thanksgiving, readers! I hope you had a momentous, turkey-and-stuffing-filled long weekend! I can't believe it's Sunday already! I gotta keep this short, since FINALS WEEK starts tomorrow! Eeek! Here's how we spent our Thanksgiving...

 At Brett's first-ever half-marathon, The Skinny Turkey!

Brett and proud Papa Shoe :)

We are yelling at him to go faster.

 Coming around the home stretch!

He finished 6th overall! His time was 1:28:41. So proud :)

Team Brett: Syreeta, B's dad, and me! Thanks, Syreeta for coming out! You made it soooo much fun! "Congratulations, I'm proud of you!" screamed at random runners, so good.

The Shoe siblings and that amazing Thanksgiving lunch spread. Mmmmm...

Even the pups got Thanksgiving lunch!

 Much-needed down time to digest!

Found my first Christmas preset this year! LOL! Thanks, Husband, I'm sure I'll LOVE it :)

Thanks for reading! I hope to post again on Friday, after finals are OVAH--and then we're off to Hawaii to see my family. Oh, how I've missed them! Look how cute my nieces and nephew were on Halloween:

Taylor was the Queen of Hearts to Kaitlin's Alice and Tanner was a ninja! They're growing up so fast!! Can't wait to see them and squeeze their cheeks!

Have a wonderful week!

First World Problems

[via]
Got home from school today and felt so tired and burnt out. Then I snapped out of it and realized what a selfish turd I was being.

Seriously, why am I complaining about receiving an excellent education for a degree that will increase my quality of life (and that of my family and future kids) tremendously? All of my dreams are coming true and I'm mopey about it? That's ridiculous!

Just another reminder that when you stop and look around, life is pretty darn amazing. So much to be grateful for.

Other good things:

Started listening to audiobooks on my way to and from school. I've already listened to Tina Fey reading Bossypants by Tina Fey and half of Are You There Vodka? It's Me Chelsea by Chelsea Handler, read by Chelsea Handler. Cracking up for 40 minutes (20 each way) is a pretty good start and end to my school day. Next: Mindy Kaling reading Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) by--you guessed it--Mindy Kaling. I don't normally read this amusing autobiographical stuff, but hearing it is entertaining.

Conversation the other morning, at 6:45am (15 minutes after my alarm goes off and I finish reading emails in bed):
Me: Pssst. [snuggling up] What time is your alarm set for?
Huz: Huh, wha? [half asleep] ...7:30. Why, what time is it?
Me: Almost 7. I think you should just get up now.
Huz: I know you do. Because you're a bad wife! [puts me in a sleepy headlock]

Still cracks me up. I hate getting up and getting ready while Huz sleeps all warm and peaceful in bed. It's the woooorrrssst.

Alright, I have a ton to get through and need to stop procrastinating.

Wintry Wardrobing

[via]
It's not quite Holiday Season yet, but close enough! Never too early to start feeling festive, right? And although the weather here has been beautiful and warm by midday (high in the 60s and 70s), it's terribly cold when the sun goes down! Puts me in the mood for some wintry shopping and outfit planning. Here are some Pinspirations.

Recent Instadventures

Hey y'all! I hope you had a nice, relaxing weekend! And if you could, I hope you voted early, like we did (pic, above). Yeah, we voted for different candidates so basically cancelled out each other's vote, but it felt good. I have voted in every single election since I turned 18 and will continue to for as long as I'm physically able. I hope you do the same!

We took it easy the rest of the weekend, since we got up at 5am this morning for Husband to run in a 10K. He did amazingly, thankyouverymuch. I'm such a proud wifey :)

This week (and the next, and the one after that, and especially the one after that) is turning out to be a bit grueling so this is my quick post before the weeks of torture begin. At least there are only three and a half weeks left before Christmas break!

Some recent(ish) Instagram pics:

date night, beers on a patio (the best!) // with my buddy (and bro-in-law) Baxter
"B" for "boys" ...just kidding, it's for Brett, I guess // at B's 5K race (he placed third!)

in the corn maze // new HI life sticker
out with the fun kids // riding the subway in NYC

leaving NYC // Baxter resting his bum on my head
throwback Thursday: the girls at Kaui's wedding waaay back in the day // on our way to Gettysburg

the battlegrounds of Gettysburg // driving through scenic Pennsylvania
fall foliage // I hit on the hot groomsman at the wedding

going 15 mph in a 45... country living... yay // ready for the wedding!
little prank we pulled (teehee) // Husband's bedhead first thing in the morning

I suppose I should get back to studying pharmacology now. Can you feel my excitement? Diuretics and ACE inhibitors and beta-blockers, so fun! :)

I hope you have an absolutely fabulous week!
