Guess Who's Full-Term!

I haven't posted in a month! Whoever said that P2 year is the hardest lied to us. This year has BY FAR been more work (and stress!) than last year. I am still unsure of how we're going to get by once Babyshoe gets here and we have to juggle baby duties, work, and therapeutics. We'll figure it out. For the moment, I'm just THRILLED to have survived the first "module" of therapeutics and passed. Brutal.

Anyhoo, we are 37.5 weeks pregs and almost there! It's weird to think that this might be our last weekend with just the two of us. We are making the most of these last weeks by spending a lot of quality "couple" time together doing fun date-like things. And sleeping as much as we can.

Some pictures we took after seeing how it's done on Pinterest (here):

Look at that belly! It's getting uncomfortable to sleep. And put on my shoes/take off pants. And get up from sitting on the floor. And sitting. And moving around in general.

Seriously, props to all the moms out there.

Here's a little sneak peek of our nursery.

We are almost, but not quite done with putting it together. We have, however, installed the car seat and packed our hospital bags! Two and a half more weeks! Place your bets now: Brett says November 7th. I think October 31st (how rad would it be if he were born on Halloween?!). Most first-time moms are about a week late, though, so we'll see.

Autumn is finally here so I hope you are out enjoying all things fall and having a wonderful weekend!

What's Up, Eighth Month?

That's right, y'all! We are entering the eighth month! Week 32, whaaaat? So crazy. Our little boy will be here in no time and we are sooooo excited/terrified/tickled/scared silly. We branded yesterday a Big Date Day and (after Husband ran 16 miles at 5am, he's so nutty) went shopping at the outlets for baby clothes! Well, we got some stuff for ourselves too but I swear Babyshoe got more new clothes than we did! Then we put together more nursery gear, organized his room, and went to a nice grown-up date night dinner. We probably only have one or two more of these dinners before baby comes, so gotta take advantage, right?

Since we got all prettified for dinner, we took some pics beforehand. All we use is a cheap $10 tripod, the camera timer, and a free web app to edit the photos afterward, FYI. Brett always says something really inappropriate or silly right before the timer goes off, which is why I'm cracking up.

Dress: ASOS (their maternity line is awesome!)
 Some funny pregnancy tidbits:

  • My belly button popped out during the last month or so. Brett says it "looks like something you'd find at the bottom of the ocean." I tried to tape it down last night since that dress is pretty thin, but it didn't work.
  • I've gained about 25% of my pre-pregnancy weight.
  • I'm getting really good at picking things up off the floor using my toes.
  • I drink 100 oz of water a day (literally) but my skin is still lizard-skin-dry. Wtf man.
  • Some people think I'm crazy for wearing heels (wedges, mind you), but when you feel like a hippo, you will do whatever it takes to maintain some amount of cuteness.
  • Baby likes to sleep when I'm awake, and wakes up to drop-kick my bladder and do somersaults when I lie down in bed (and during stressful exams).
I could say more, but I'd like to keep at least a tiny shred of dignity. Let's just say that pregnancy is NOT PRETTY. All mystery and gracefulness is out the window, sorry Husband. There are women that love being preggos, and others who hate it, and I think I'm somewhere in the middle. I love carrying this little one (a.k.a. the cutest little boy ever) and keeping him safe and having him with me all the time, and I'm sure I'll miss that once he's born, but at the same time, I feel like my body has been taken over by an insatiable, burpy, unpredictable alien. I will admit, however, that I have never respected my bods as much as I do now. Who knew this scrawny thing could make and nurture a human being to life? That's cray.

Anyway, we are entering our 30's--week 32 (OMG!)--and really starting to get everything together for the little one! We have to start thinking about the birth plan, hospital bag(s), installing the car seat, etc etc etc. So fun :) Can't wait to share pics of the nursery once it's finally done!

I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend and a great upcoming week!
